Australia, 1934. The Great Depression grips the nation. On the remote backroads of South Australia, a war-scarred veteran living as a solitary swagman is drawn into a chain of escalating events that push him to the brink. What begins as a struggle for survival soon spirals into a violent descent, transforming him into a desperate and dangerous fugitive feared across the outback — the man who will come to be known as The Sundowner.
