Ben Hall, a young cattleman, has his life overturned by the Gold Rush to his district and the sudden betrayal of his wife. Broken and angry, he finds friendship amongst the bushrangers led by the notorious Frank Gardiner. But his association with wanted men makes him a new target for the newly instated Police Inspector Pottinger and their bitter rivalry begins.
When Ben Hall particpates in the largest gold heist in the Empire, Pottinger vows to bring him in. Taking up the gun, Ben Hall leads the most notorious bushranger gang in Australia's history in violent personal war against the police and the society he was once a part of. But his world soon spirals out of control, leading him to a tragic destiny that will forever make him an Australian legend.

"While there have been many films made on the subject of bushrangers, none have properly encapsulated the massive scope of these incredible characters and stories. Few films have captured the era credibly and fewer again are of any great repute or quality.
It is my driving passion to create a crime saga of such scale and drama unnlike any other previously made here in Australia, filled with brutal action, gritty realism and unsurpassed authenticity. I aim to set a new benchmark for the bushranger genre and a open a cinematic time portal into this fascinating and largely unknown world. But most important of all, deliver a wildly entertaining and deeply emotional film experience.
I envisage 'The Bushranger' to be to the Aussie-Western genre what 'The Godfather' was to the Gangster genre... both defining and ground-breaking. "
